06/02/2016 - Author: Blake Thompsett

Hash Weed, Weed hash... Let's talk about it!

Does Hashish give you a different high? Have you already decided on an answer to the question hash VS weed? Have you ever wondered what is the difference is between hash and weed? Read along to understand everything there is to know about hashish and weed, and what is the answer for the question hash VS weed. What’s Hashish? Hashish, which is also known as a hash, is a cannabis product that’s composed strictly of trichomes. Don't get mistaken, it`s still not an answer for hash VS weed. Trichomes are resin glands that are found primarily on cannabis flowers and secondary leaves. Trichomes contain cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, which makes them the most sought after portion of the cannabis plant. Since hashish is composed of trichomes - it’s seen as one of the purest forms of cannabis that doesn’t require the use of expensive extraction equipment. In general, hashish tests above 30% THC. Hashish products offer a much more different experience when compared with weed. Many users claim that the high from hashish is much more surreal and clear - primarily because only cannabinoids are consumed. How to smoke Hush Hashish is typically smoked in a pipe. However, it can also be added to a joint or mixed with ground flowers in a pipe. Hashish can be smoked alone in a glass pipe, dab rig, or bong. However, most people mix hash with other herbs, such as dry smokable herbs, herbal smoking blends, or even tobacco. However, it’s not recommended to consume hash alongside tobacco because this promotes nicotine addiction. Instead, mixing hashish with herbal blends, such as those produced by Proper Kushty and contain only Damiana, for people who looking for new experience could try herbal blends infused with terpenes. When smoked, hashish has a very earthy and floral character, which is why it pairs incredibly well with herbal blends that contain chamomile, lavender, and mint. The overall flavor profile is enhanced dramatically when you incorporate herbs other than tobacco. How is Hashish Produced? The traditional method of producing hashish is by taking a mature flowering cannabis plant and vigorously rubbing it in between your hands.

  • The heat and agitation break the trichomes off, and they stick to the hands.

  • The end result is hands covered in sticky trichomes.

  • The trichomes are scraped from the hands and rolled into balls.

  • These balls are then pressed into bricks for transportation and sale.

The colour of hashish is typically dark brown to light gold, which depends on the age of the flower involved. However, other methods of producing hashish exist. One such method is called the ice-water hash, which involves ice cold water and cannabis flowers.

  • The flowers are submerged and agitated with a large spoon.

  • The trichomes sink to the bottom, and the water is eventually strained.

  • The trichomes are collected, dried, and pressed into hash balls.

If you’re wondering how to make hashish - it’s as simple as rubbing your fingers over your cannabis plant. So let's understand what is the difference between hash and weed, by understanding what weed is.

What is Weed? Weed differs from hash because it’s the whole flower. Whereas hashish is a concentrated form of cannabis - weed is the entire flower that’s composed of trichomes, lipids, and chlorophyll. How is Weed Produced? Cannabis is produced by growing weed plants to full maturity. However, instead of seeking trichomes exclusively, cannabis crops are harvested, and the flowers are dried and cured. How is Weed Smoked? Weed is smoked by grinding whole flowers into small pieces. Grounded weed is then rolled into a joint or place into a bowl of a bong or pipe. Furthermore, many individuals combine weed with tobacco, which is proven to promote tobacco addiction. Instead, many are now turning to alternative herbal blends that do not contain nicotine to mix with their weed for a tobacco-free experience. The effects of smoking weed are much less “clear” compared to hashish because users are also getting a dose of plant material that affects the overall experience. Smoking weed means that users are also burning plant-based materials, such as chlorophyll and plant lipids. These compounds alter the flavor and even the experience. Hash VS weed - Which is Best? Ultimately, only you can decide which product is better for you. Weed is preferred by most because it’s readily available and inexpensive. Hashish is viewed as a specialty extract because it’s more potent and expensive. For some, the experience that hash offers is not to be missed. However, this is only something that you can decide after experiencing both hash and weed. So maybe there is no exact answer for hash VS weed, and it all depends on what experience you looking for, the best thing about these two is that both can be easily mixed with herbal smoking blends that will take you to another level.
